Carlo Guidetti’s company was established in 1945 by Carlo Guidetti whose father Giuseppe was one of the last umbrella-pedlars from
"Alto Vergante".
Carlo’s story was at the very beginning very similar to the one of many poor children living in this area. As the documents collected at the
"Museo dell'Ombrello of Gignese"
tell he too left his family at ten to become apprentice in Novara and try his luck. After a childhood of privations he managed to recover his freedom and began an activity on his own always keeping in mind his father’s tradition.
He started making umbrellas in a cellar helped by two workers. Step by step he developped his business until the ‘70s when a lucky intuition made him turn to the advertising production. The growth of his enterprise was this way
non-stop. It became one of the leader-companies in Europe for the manufacturing of both advertising and classical rain- and sun-umbrellas.
Carlo’s sons and daughters: Massimo, Cinzia, Valter and Silvia gathered and developped their father’s inheritance. They now manage a company which manufactures 900,000 pcs. parasols and 80,000 pcs. umbrellas a year. A full 75% of this production goes abroad and mainly to: Germany, France, Benelux, Spain, the Northern countries and the U.S.A.
Our customers can count on a wide range of models manufactured with textiles more and more technically advanced. We employ printing-systems highly qualified which enable to perform also very difficult designs achieving high results.
Also the range of the imported umbrellas from the far East is rich. We have a stock of around one million pieces of these articles available all year long.
